Geotechnical/Civil Engineer - 4 year degree required
D’Appolonia is seeking a full-time civil or geotechnical engineer with our progressive design firm located in the Pittsburgh, PA area recognized for geotechnical and civil engineering. D'Appolonia is a client-focused provider of consulting engineering services. Our core capabilities include civil and geotechnical engineering, geology, hydrology and hydraulics, and dam engineering.

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Slope stability analysis;
• Hydrology and hydraulic analysis;
• Design of site civil and geotechnical structures such as earth retention structures;
• Assist in dam rehabilitation projects;
• Erosion and sediment control design;
• Deep foundation design and analysis; Construction monitoring and documentation activities;
• Monitoring field geotechnical drilling and sampling activities;
• Installation and monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation equipment; and
• Field surveying and field reconnaissance in support of geotechnical explorations and construction activities.

Requirements for this position include:

• A BS in Civil Engineering or similar discipline within 6 months of application;
• Engineer In Training (E.I.T.) or ability to obtain with 6 months of hiring;
• 0-5 years of experience (Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in site exploration, civil/foundation design and construction);
• Project related travel is anticipated;
• A valid, non-commercial driver’s license; and
• The ability to work independently or as part of a team.
