We are seeking an IT Desktop Support Specialist to join our team! The IT Desktop Support Specialist will assist our Morton and Redwood Falls, MN location, along with remotely assisting our Kansas City, KS facility. The Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for assisting employees in resolving their software and hardware issues. The Desktop Support Specialist will configure and deploy hardware and software to support the maintenance and expansion of technology within a growing company.

Essential Functions:

• Provide first-level support to IT service requests. Respond to needs/questions of network users - access to resources on the network/operation of various software programs. Maintain problem documentations and resolution procedures for reference
• Escalate complex support requests to relevant IT staff for resolutions
• Establish and maintain network users, user environment, directories, and security; reset passwords
• Administer network and data security, including directory, group policy, firewalls, antivirus, and email security
• Ensures corporate data and systems security by protecting company network and cloud systems from unauthorized access, use, or interruption
• Ensures data and corporate systems are backed up and recoverable
• Install, configure, deploy, and maintain software and hardware systems
• Train new employees and end users on software and equipment usage
• Assist in development and enhancement of IT systems.
• Assess potential risks and technical challenges and prepare appropriate mitigation plans
• Analyze system issues and provide resolutions. Report system downtime and performance issues to Director
• Recommend process improvements to ensure system reliability, scalability, security, integrity and performance
• Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
• Effectively prioritizes work to support the operations of the business
• Demonstrates ability to effectively lead others through change management processes
• Communicates effectively with others, including end-users, project managers, leaders, and third parties
• Utilizes project management skills to assure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Maintain confidentiality and security of company documents and customers
• Travel between worksites in MN and KS as needed to support business needs
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Technical or associates degree in related field or prior experience required
• Experience in Microsoft Windows Server environment
• Experience in a SQL / .NET environment
• Experience in NetSuites preferred
• Highly flexible, independent thinking, and quick learning
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Knowledge of hardware, software systems, and components used
• Knowledge of security standards and experience in administering IT security controls

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
