Job Description :

Established local metal manufacturer in the material handling industry is sourcing an Industrial Engineer/Project Manager at our Northwest Nashville, Tennessee location. Salary Commensurate with Experience.

This position applies approved policies and practices to improve operating performance, reduce waste and delays while promoting cost reductions with a high level of efficiency. Activities involve production methods, equipment layout, material handling and personnel, equipment, and material utilization. Daily and overnight travel is required between middle Tennessee and Frankfort, Kentucky locations and to suppliers as required – some international travel required.

This is a salaried overtime exempt position. Full time benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance availability the first of month after 30 days of service, paid vacation time, 401k with 100% match after 1 year of fulltime service, 9 paid holidays, employer paid life insurance as well as short- and long-term disability, and annual discretionary bonus based upon profits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops manufacturing methods for machines, tools and equipment, processes and procedures, plant layout, material handling, work simplification and cost reduction.
  • Manages capital projects
  • Assists with cost control programs and standards.
  • Provides advice and counsel in the maintenance and repair of production equipment.
  • Translates technical guidance received from supervisors/managers into usable engineering data applicable to assignments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • May participate and facilitate team projects.
  • Works and travels in a multi-plant organization

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or 3-5 years technical and engineering experience; or equivalent combination of experience and education. Working knowledge of AutoCAD program. Ability to organize projects in MS Project or equivalent software. Technical Knowledge : Strong understanding of industrial equipment and facilities including: HVAC and cooling systems, compressed air systems, electro-mechanical equipment and automation, resistance welding, metal forming, material handling equipment, and metal finishing systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
