Engineers at Global use creativity and engineering principals towards the design of new and improved electric and diesel street sweepers. Taking designs from the drafting board all the way to the finished product with an engineering team.

Responsibilities:

Design mechanical and electromechanical components and their system’s integration. Prepare reports, schedules, layouts, schematics and production drawings in 3D CAD Solidworks. Work with the production line in testing their design and doing final design review.

Work closely with production line to introduce new drawings, changes to current drawings and implement work instructions on the assembly line.

Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, federal/state standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications.

Experience/Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited school

• Experience with a 3D CAD program (Solidworks preferred)
• Experience with a Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software package
• Ability to produce dimensioned drawings to drafting standards
• Mobile or industrial equipment design experience
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including sheet metal bending, welding, casting, machining, rotational molding, etc.
• Experience creating/maintaining a bill of material (BOM)

Additional skills in the following areas are a plus:

• Hydraulics experience

• Sheet metal design experience
• Experience with automotive design
• Knowledge of Workgroup PDM
• Understanding of Machine design.
• Knowledge of the FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards)
