We are looking for a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to help patients improve their mobility and move forward. We are an outpatient clinic with two locations: Camillus and North Syracuse. Hours will be at North Syracuse office and occasional Camillus.

We treat a lot of patients with multiple comorbidities and significant chronic pain. As a result, we use a variety of different manual therapy techniques which we would be able to teach you and send you to continuing education (once available d/t COVID restrictions). You will work closely and under the direction of the physical therapist, treating patients with medical problems or other conditions that limit their ability to move or perform functional activities.

Responsibilities

• Normal PTA job tasks of documenting, implement interventions in a technically competent manner
• Instruct and counsel patients effectively in exercises
• Identify patient’s needs and exhibit compassion, caring, and empathy to individual differences
• Recommend options, courses of action or modifications in selected treatments ensuring patient’s progress, safety and comfort
• Adhere to ethical and legal standards

Skills

• Hands on experience with therapeutic exercises, functional training and manual therapy
• Ability to communicate and instruct effectively
• Documentation skills
• PTA degree and license (new grads welcome to apply)

• M 8-1, 2-6:30 (North Syracuse)
• T 8-1 (North Syracuse or Camillus)
• W 8-1, 2-6:30 (North Syracuse)
• Th 11-6:30 (North Syracuse or Camillus)
• F: 8-1, 2-4:30 (North Syracuse)

In addition to paid time off for major holidays, we provide 3 weeks paid time off (2 vacation, 1 sick time/personal) , which increases to 4 weeks (3 vacation, 1 sick time/personal) after being here 5 years.
