Job Description :
Responsibility: Plans, directs, and coordinates machining operations including CNC Lathes, Screw Machines, and Rotary Transfer Machines. Oversees day-to-day activities and maintains daily contact with employees per the L. D. McCauley, LLC organizational chart and outside suppliers. Acts as backup to the Manufacturing Manager in his absence.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for all internal blanking operations, including screw machines, rotary transfer machine, and CNC lathes.
- Provides technical assistance with designs, specifications, and manufacture of wheel locks.
- Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements and workflow, layout, tooling, spec. out and installation of new equipment and fixtures, material fabrication, assembly methods and requirements, and design new features.
- Confers with Production Control/Steel Purchasing to ensure we have or will have the needed steel to satisfy the forecast.
- Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Communicates with blanking suppliers to review forecast and quality.
- Troubleshoot and be adept at solving problems as they occur in manufacturing processes.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
- Three to five (3-5) years’ experience in Manufacturing Supervision or Equivalent Experience.
- Strong math & blueprint understanding. Dimensioning, tolerance and strong decimal skills are required.
