Sales/Project Manager is responsible for estimating, planning, executing, and managing projects to meet quality, budget, and schedule requirements with ability to sell Machining, Fabrication, and Field Maintenance Services. This position requires in-depth knowledge of metal manufacturing processes meeting ASME and AWS codes including welding (GMAW, GTAW, SAW, etc.), machining (CNC and manual), and special processes. Responsible for managing all aspects of a project from kick-off to close-out, including written and verbal communication at all levels within the organization as well as externally to customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from bidding and selling to closure

• Serve as primary customer contact for orders received

• Review of customer contracts, specifications and drawings to develop bill of materials, determine testing and fabrication methods required.

• Prepare manufacturing plan including travelers, project specific procedures, project specific drawings and test plans in compliance with the clients Quality Assurance program to meet customer contract requirements

• Preparation of detailed, technically complete and accurate purchase requisitions

• Be accountable for project results, working in conjunction with Estimating, Project Controls, Accounting, and Operations Manager, clearly communicating expectations and needs

• Identify and proactively resolve issues and solve problems throughout project life cycle

• Document and route for approval all project changes by initiating change notices

• Track and report project milestones and provide status reports in coordination with Project Controls

• Provide reports to Controller for financial progress reporting of projects and assist in developing and maintaining project budgets

• Ensure all project documents are maintained during the project and safely archived following project completion

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years work experience in custom metal manufacturing sales and project management required, preferably with Stainless/Carbon Steel and Aluminum.

• Excellent knowledge of machining, welding, and assembly in a metal fabrication shop

• Detailed knowledge and experience working to ASME and AWS welding codes

• Prefer experience with Quality Assurance systems

• Experience writing, revising and controlling manufacturing documents including shop travelers/routers, manufacturing procedures, data sheets, etc.

• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft office, Project scheduling software, JobBoss, CAD, and SolidWorks

• Demonstrated leadership, communication, problem solving and analytical skills

• Ability to work in team-oriented environment and to communicate across all levels of the organization
