About the role:

The Shop Manager oversees Farmacopia’s daily operations, and ensures the overall well-being of customers, staff, and day-to-day business activities. Responsibilities include the ability to:

• Graciously navigate the wide range of customer interactions, which may include customer concerns. Ensure that customers have a positive experience.
• Model excellent sales skills for staff and monitor flow of store sales
• Clearly communicate with staff, lead morning meetings, and address staff questions and concerns
• Coordinate daily activities to make sure business operations run smoothly
• Check-in with staff regularly and create a safe and fair work environment
• Ensure staff adhere to company policies and procedures
• Prepare monthly employee work schedules
• Manage all money-handling procedures
• Train employees
• Communicate regularly with our head of social marketing on instore and online promotions, and effectively relay all pertinent information to staff.
• Participate in promotions via posting regularly on social media channels, organizing store displays, facilitating in-store and online promotions (posting signs, creating discount codes, responding to related emails, etc.)

Qualifications:

• Strong leadership, communication, and management skills
• Exceptional interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
• Strong background in customer-centered business practices
• Great attention to detail and strong ability to multi-task
• Basic knowledge of nutrition and/or herbal medicine
• Experience with Shopify is a plus
• Knowledge and fluency with social media platforms and tech in general
• Bonus (but not required): fluency in Spanish language
