Hogan Land Services proudly serves California from 3 locations: Santa Rosa, Santa Cruz and Livermore. We are a well-established Engineering & Land Surveying firm and we are seeking an Engineering Technician.

As an Engineering Technician, your responsibilities may include:

• Performing civil design tasks with minimal guidance and supervision
• Demonstrating knowledge and ability to understand and prepare permit drawings for grading & drainage designs including driveways, building pads, and erosion & sediment control plans based on direction from the licensed professional in responsible charge
• Performing complex hydrology calculations and hydraulic evaluation of proposed drainage features for permit submission
• Using AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare Civil Design Drawings
• Discussing potential new projects with prospective clients and assist with preparing professional service agreements for Civil Engineering Related services
• Coordinating with other members of the project design team including colleagues, Clients, Architects, Project Team Contractors, Owners, and Designers to coordinate civil design
• Performing on-site evaluations, construction observation and inspections, and project site reviews related to Civil Engineering projects
• Receiveing and addressing Client, Consultant and Contractor calls
• Communicating with architects, engineers, contractors, and other parties involved in the design process
• Site visits both prior to and after the grading design is completed to observe existing field conditions and to confirm general conformance with the approved plans

Required Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), Outlook, and use of Engineering software (Auto Cad, Civil 3d, Blue Beam, etc.)
• Application of Engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Works well in a team environment and completes assigned duties independently
• Can communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and project team members
• Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Knowledge of Engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills

Education: B.S. or better in Civil Engineering discipline

Experience: 2+ years and E.I.T. Certificate

Salary: Dependent on experience level and ability
