Comptroller

Inspiring Lives, Inc of West Union, IA is seeking an experienced Comptroller to oversee the Finance Team operations of our not-for-profit organization. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a senior finance role and demonstrated success in leading a business office team. As a strong communicator and skilled financial professional, this person will streamline our budgeting, payroll and financial reporting processes. The comptroller will implement processes and produce thorough financial-status reports for the CEO and Board of Directors to help improve our operational efficiency and support our continued growth.

Position objectives:

• Be a strong source of support to the CEO, providing comprehensive financials by evaluating, analyzing and reporting on the health and strength of the organization’s financial status,
• Develop, implement and maintain financial controls using GAAP,
• Guide financial decisions by applying internal policies and procedures, as well as ensuring external regulatory compliance,
• Work with the CEO and the Board in assisting with the development of short and long term operational strategies,

Minimum qualifications include a 4 yr. finance related degree, or a combined equivalent of degree and experience, prior supervisory experience, a valid driver’s license and insurability under the organization’s insurance policy. Prior Quickbooks use is helpful, and healthcare experience preferred.
