Marshfield Medical Center, the Marshfield Clinic Health System flagship hospital, cares for patients from throughout central, northern and western Wisconsin. Marshfield Medical Center offers primary, secondary, tertiary and Level II Trauma Center hospital services provided by Marshfield Clinic specialists. The facility hosts nearly 40 specialties including cancer, heart and orthopedics care, as well as a 24-bed Children's Hospital equipped with the latest technology and highly-trained hospitalists and nurses providing nearly 30 pediatric specialty services, including: child abuse-neglect, gastroenterology, pediatric intensive care, neonatology, and surgery. Access to a Level II Trauma Center, ensures 24-hour availability of anesthesiologists, dedicated medical equipment, operating room facilities, physician specialists, surgeons, and trauma nurses.

The Dermatology Technician functions as a member of the healthcare team by providing clinical and technical support to assist providers in providing for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The individual will complete basic procedures and light treatments as requested by the provider and will assist providers with procedures. The Dermatology Technician II performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health Systems’ mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Requires:

• Graduate of a medical assistant, licensed practical nurse, registered nurse or surgical technologist program
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• Dermatology experience in healthcare preferred
• Successful completion of the Marshfield Clinic Health Systems’ dermatology advancement test

Certification requirements: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire and one of the following:

• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification awarded by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license awarded by the State of Wisconsin or
• Surgical Technologist certification awarded by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within two years’ of hire.
• Grandfathering applies if the individual was hired into this role prior to 8/22/2018.

Certifications - Preferred/Optional:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire
• Surgical Technologist certification awarded by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
