The Design and Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible to increase revenues and improve profitability through professionalism in New Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Cost Reduction (VAIO), and Project Management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Design and Manufacturing Engineer Primary responsibilities will be to:

• Identify, develop, and implement New Products and/or Product revisions that will generate new Sales revenues and Contribution Margins (CM) to the company.
• Develop and implement Cost reduction opportunities throughout the product line to reduce Product costs and increase Contribution Margins (CM).
• Be a Project Management professional, planning, scheduling, and leading all projects to successful completion in the shortest possible time, at the lowest possible cost, and always on time, and at or below budget.
• Become the resident expert in Manufacturing Engineering techniques and principles related to equipment, products, and processes under his/her responsibility.

The Design and Manufacturing Engineer will:

• Design and develop innovative new products. Goal is one major new product per year.
• Be an expert in Solids modeling (SM), utilizing SM techniques in all product and process documentation, including advanced techniques such as animation, and 3-D models.
• Be the technical expert for all equipment utilized in their area of responsibility.
• Will identify all critical to quality (CTQ) processes and parameters and provide procedures, sign offs, product documentation, and training to production operators.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCES

• Minimum of 1+ years working as a design or project engineer preferred but recent or upcoming grads welcome to apply
• Experience working in manufacturing preferred
• Product development experience
  • NPDP certification a plus
  • Experienced in VOC (Voice of the customer) a plus
  • Rapid Product development techniques a plus
    • QFD, 3P, X-functional teams
  • Project management experience
    • Microsoft Project experience a plus
    • PMP certification a plus
  • Manufacturing Engineering Experience
    • Work experience in a manufacturing environment, concepts, practices and procedures
    • Metals Manufacturing Experience Preferred, ideally, sheet metal
      • Familiar with equipment in the industry
      • Mechanically oriented
      • Electrical experience a plus
    • Solids modeling, experience
      • Utilize solids modeling on a daily basis as a tool to develop products
      • Inventor and Autodesk products a plus
    • BOM understanding and experience
      • Vault Pro or other MRP systems use is a plus
    • PC hardware general knowledge
    • Microsoft Office applications knowledge in all products but preferred
    • Knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma concepts
