About the Role:
Cox2M delivers end-to-end, groundbreaking solutions to a diverse set of customers in target verticals such as automotive, smart communities, and industrial. This is an exciting ground level leadership opportunity in a dynamic, fast paced, and innovative environment, where you will lead the Growth program and operations for an emerging business offering and vertical for Cox2M. The vehicle management vertical is driving innovation in the Connected Assets space through the development and commercialization of IoT solutions to power vehicle management and telematics for small businesses. As the director of growth and operations, you will be making decisions that immediately impact the trajectory of the business. This includes overseeing all program, operations and when needed the commercial operations of this business, with direct leadership of every aspect of the business other than product and technology, reporting directly to the General Manager of the business vertical.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Define and manage the tactics and programs necessary for go-to-market efforts to generate interest and demand for Cox2M Fleet Solutions
- Build the necessary operations infrastructure and put into place a highly effective customer success team necessary to build a high-growth business.
- Hire, manage and build a team culture focused on high performance through high quality delivery and fast execution
- Provide visibility and metrics into go-to-market, financial and operational performance via effective dashboards and communication tools
- Provide a scalable approach to managing programs and mitigating risks, including a repeatable structure and cadence for programs and clear reporting to executive and senior and C0suite leadership
- Build the operations team, infrastructure and processes needed for a scalable business that can deliver and support hundreds of thousands of active connections under management every year
- Participate in identifying and evaluating new strategic partners across operations, technology and go-to-market
- Directly manage day to day priorities and personnel across all business functions, and oversee talent assessment and development as the direct manager of 3-5 direct reports
- Expected to travel at least 10-25% of the time
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum
- BA or BS degree required plus 8 years of experience required in related field (i.e. strategy, program/project management, marketing, sales, etc.) (Will consider candidates with an MS and 6 years of experience, a Ph. D. and 3 years of experience or 12 years of experience with no formal degree)
- 3 years of experience in a management or leadership role
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit and thrives in ambiguity
- Experience building new businesses
- Strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and appetite to learn and implement new tools
- Comfortable working autonomously on multiple workstreams and topics at the same time, pushing toward tight deadlines, at times with limited information
- Comfortable reaching out and securing engagement of multiple team members for information, brainstorming, guidance or action
- Comfortable working autonomously in differing and varying work environments (office, home office, field office, partner site, customer site, tradeshows and other)
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and collaborative skills and commitment to develop further such skills and work effectively with teams throughout organization and outside the organization with limited oversight
- Natural curiosity and tendency to question the status quo combined with proven solid analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
- Start-up founding team experience
- Experience with data and analytics driven decision making
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced customer facing environment solving operational problems
- Experience in telecommunications, IoT or high-tech environment
- Passion for exceeding customer expectations and driving exceptional customer experience
- MBA/Strategy Consulting experience
