Position Summary: Kutztown University Dining Services seeks friendly, service-oriented indiviuals to join our team as a cashier for an available Monday-Friday 1pm-9pm shift.

The Cashier is responsible for accurately processing retail merchandise transactions, meal plan transactions, maintaining the balance of the cash drawer, and providing customer service to guests of the location. In addition, the individual may perform other serviceable duties as assigned. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.

Essential Functions:

• Greet customers as they approach the cash register and be polite with customers during the transaction

• Operates cash register and credit card machines processing cash, credit, Meal Plan Flex, and Bear Bucks transactions accurately

• Understands all menu items and pricing to effectively complete financial transactions and answer questions from customers

• Maintain an organized, neat and clean cashier station

• Stock service areas with paper goods, condiments, beverages, and food items as needed

• Count, organize, and balance the cash drawer; fill out the Cashier Return Card; and make deposits while in the presence of a manager or lead

• Adheres to cash handling policies and procedures

• Distribute promotional material and customer loyalty rewards as necessary

• Assist with daily functions in the dining room during down time

• Keep work areas clean and sanitized

• Sweep and mop floors and or vacuum carpets

• Monitor inappropriate activities in the location and report incidents to lead or manager.

• Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guest, customers, clients, co - workers, etc.

• Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation

• Ensures security of company assets

• Report safety hazards discovered in the location to management immediately

Qualifications

• Customer service experience and cash handling experience preferred

• Basic math and counting skills required

• Maintain a positive attitude and smile

• Involves repetitive motion

• Perform repetitive tasks

• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

• Must be able to work independently with limited supervision

• Ability to understand and follow directions given by management

• Attends work and shows up for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity

• Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

• Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 per hour
