Smart Care Solutions is looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join their rapidly growing team in St. Paul, MN!

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Human Resources Generalist provides HR support for a business unit of Smart Care with approximately 130 employees. The incumbent supports our HR team and provides first-line people support to employees in all areas of this recently acquired business unit. Someone who is eager to learn and grow in a variety of HR areas, and wants to add value to an HR team and employee population in a fast-paced, high-growth business is an ideal fit for this role.

Initially, this position will report into the VP of HR and will work closely with our Payroll Manager to provide backup payroll processing support. They will also work in tandem with the HRIS Manager to provide ad hoc HRIS reporting support. Ideally within one year, this role will transition to an HR Generalist with heavy employee relations responsibilities and will report to an HR Business Partner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates annual HR processes such as talent planning, annual performance reviews, bonus plans, and compensation process
  • Manages employee relations issues with oversight from HRBP or VP of HR
  • Coordinates hiring, onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Liaison with Talent Acquisition to ensure we have the right talent in the right place at the right time
  • Manages Leaves of Absence: STD, LTD, FMLA, Military, WC (in conjunction with Safety Manager and Benefits Specialist)
  • Supports benefits administration including open enrollment and benefits enrollment system (Employee Navigator)
  • Works with external benefits vendors, including working closely with benefits broker
  • Streamlines processes and documents new SOPs
  • Primary backup for payroll processing
  • Generates, organizes and distributes HR reports, scorecards, and dashboards
  • Drafts, coordinates, and distributes business unit HR and Talent Acquisition communications
  • Processes invoices, maintains records, and completes projects
  • Coordinates HR meetings and special events

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • No immigration sponsorship available for this role

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Workday preferred
  • Demonstrated initiative and drive with a strong desire and ability to learn
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer service focus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Planning and follow through
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Prior experience with payroll processing, HRIS reporting and benefits administration
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and conceptual problem solving skills
  • Resourcefulness with the ability to both work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated discretion as to when a situation needs to be escalated, requires additional support or necessitates confidentiality
  • Strong Excel skills and/or the desire to learn Excel (pivot tables, vLookUps, etc)
