Job Summary

The IT Hardware Technician is responsible for resolving work requests, installing hardware and software, and analyzing system requirements. Tasks include end-user support, license tracking, performing PC maintenance, upgrades and configurations, and monitoring of assigned systems such as wireless networks, security cameras, and other equipment. The IT Hardware Technician will provide support to employees or customers regarding day-to-day hardware and software-related technical issues, giving instructions on how to use different programs and devices. The IT Hardware Technician will be responsible for installing and updating desktops or laptops, ensuring software is working efficiently, and troubleshooting IT issues within the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide IT support and resolve problems to end users
• Monitor and respond effectively to requests of end users
• Manage day-to-day issues arising from printers, computers, and other devices
• Repair computer equipment and related devices when damage occurs
• Train new users to handle pieces of equipment or computer hardware and software
• Assist in documenting and reviewing internal procedures
• Install, test, and configure new workstations, associated equipment, and software
• Assist in maintaining an inventory of all equipment, software, and licenses
• Assist with server and hardware maintenance and upgrades as needed
• Manage other tasks as assigned by the Systems Administration Lead

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an IT-related field preferred; Associates Degree in an IT-related field or 2+ years’ experience considered
• Timely and accurate problem-solving skills with display of an analytical mindset
• Ability to communicate complex issues to non-technical staff with excellent listing and communication skills
• Strong ability to maintain the confidentiality of end users
• Ability to work on-site (Loyal, WI) and in multiple locations (Arcadia, WI / Stanley, WI) and settings
• Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly and 50-75 pounds occasionally
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize
• Maintain a valid Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record
