KHSL, CBS 12, CW & KNVN NBC 24, Telemundo in beautiful Chico California, is looking for a Broadcast IT Manager to oversee the traditional network LAN environment and the Broadcast System LAN environment. We have recently automated our Broadcast Operations and need a skilled IT Manager excited about adapting to changing technologies.

The qualified candidate will know how to maintain users within typical Windows domain environments. They must maintain and build upon network security systems, purchase computer equipment, configure servers, deploy laptop/desktop systems, participate in end user training, maintain fixed IP and DHCP enabled LANs, manage WiFi networks as well as make all network wiring terminations when needs arise. They will manage local and remote user access to Microsoft office and Google workspace environments, be familiar with computer backup, image creation, and server recovery solutions. The most qualified candidate is familiar with television broadcast system server maintenance, configuration, and new equipment integration.

They must be able to communicate highly technical details to non-technical employees. They must communicate effectively in English to resolve local end user issues and bring outside vendor support issues to resolution. Must be able to lift, move and rack 50 lbs. of server equipment and be dexterous enough to attach cabling in tight quarters. They must have a valid California driver's license or the ability to get one shortly after hire.

The KHSL Broadcast IT Manager will be customer service focused, with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, having demonstrated knowledge of the following items:

Network topology, switching, connectivity, and segmentation

VLAN understanding and IP v4 and v6 Management

VMware & Virtual systems understanding

Wireless Connectivity & usage policies

MFA & Systems Access

User On-Boarding - new user setup and old user decommissioning

Active Directory Management

MS 365 and Google Workspace administration

VPN Access

WAN connectivity – circuit usage

DMZ – Publicly facing systems – Gateway switch configuration

Software Compliance & Licensing knowledge

Windows Updates – WSUS/ad hoc client install, server install and tracking

The candidate must be familiar with level one functions such as deploying desktops, updating software, repairing broken hardware, and end user assistance.

A thorough knowledge, understanding, and familiarity of the essential job functions must be the primary goal within the first 90 – 180 days. An ongoing effort to gain a holistic overview of the following Broadcast IT systems, their operations, and workflow is essential.

Qualifications Requirements:

Good analytical & technical problem-solving skills

Must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with constant deadlines

Good interpersonal and English communication skills, positive attitude, team player

Ability to maintain corporate standards, policies, and procedures

May be required to be “on-call” outside of normal working hours

Education:

BS or BA in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Technology or an equivalent combination of training and real-world work experience including military experience.

Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare, SBE-CBNE or other certifications are preferred.

Additional Requirements:
