Lead English Teacher – Job Description

EMPLOYMENT DUTIES

Les Lilas is looking for an English Teacher for our preschool, who is passionate about bilingual education. Our teachers exhibit enthusiasm, a caring attitude, and a love of learning.

Montessori certification and/or a Washington State Teaching certificate is strongly preferred. If not currently certified, the applicant must be enrolled in or willing to enroll in a Montessori training program.

Les Lilas French Bilingual Community School’s mission is to provide children with a strong academic foundation and foster a lifelong joy of learning through a dual French/Montessori curriculum.

QUALIFICATIONS

-Ability to work individually and as a member of a team

-Excitement for teaching and supporting children ages 3-6 years old

-An appreciation for the complexity and uniqueness of children’s developmental timetables

-Proactive and takes initiative

-Flexibility and ability to adapt

-Exhibit leadership and strong problem-solving skills

-Multi-tasking abilities a must

-Creativity

-Must be able to lift 30 pounds (as needed)

-Occasional days/weekends needed, outside of normal shift

-Position is for the school year, (September through June)

-Summer hours may be available as well (for additional compensation)

REQUIRED BEFORE START DATE:

-CPR/First Aid Certification

-Background Check through Department of Children, Youth and Families (including fingerprinting) required

-Complete STARS training and all MERIT requirements met

-Records of receiving or having antibodies for measles required, along with a clear Tuberculosis screening test

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour
