Job description:

Network Administrator will assist the Chief Information Officer with duties as needed. Primary responsibilities for this role include managing and implementing networking equipment, servers, and software for our eight member cooperatives and Rushmore Electric.

Responsibilities: Network Administrator has the following responsibilities and duties:

• Implement network equipment including Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Wireless, VoIP Phones, and Virtual Machines
• Implement Servers and Virtual Machines
• Maintain and monitor network equipment through (SNMP, Syslog, SEIM) and (bandwidth, delay, latency)
• Diagnose 3rd party software and security issues by examining network traffic
• Backup network configuration and restore network in running order
• Address internal and external network issues
• Document network topology and change management
• Setup user accounts, permissions, and change passwords
• Be on call and fix issues remotely
• Occasionally, travel to remote locations in South Dakota to perform job duties
• Handle other responsibilities as requested by management or IT

Requirements: Network Administrator should have the following skills, education and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of equivalent experience
• Understand TCP/IP, Layer 2 vs Layer 3, Encryption, and Authentication
• Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize workload
• Educate themselves on technologies and implement them into infrastructure
• Attend annual training on equipment and technologies
• Experience with Cisco network equipment and technologies is a plus

Certifications: Network Administrator candidate certifications are not required but are highly recognized.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
