The Richland Hospital, Inc currently is seeking an innovative, high energy full-time (.8 FTE) Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in our Clinic department. The Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides Professional Services to individual Patients of the Richland Hospital Clinic on a routine scheduled basis. The PA or NP may be scheduled to provide Professional Services to individual patients of Muscoda Health Center or Spring Green Medical Center in certain situations where temporary coverage is required and scheduled in advance.

Under the direction of a physician, the surgical PA or NP performs first assistant surgical duties, including tissue retraction and suturing. Completes pre-op tasks including physical examinations and recording health history, orders appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests, participates in patient rounds, writes progress notes, conducts patient education, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

• Nurse Prescriber (APNP) license or a Physician Assistant (PA) license
• APNP must be certified with American Nurses Credentialing Center or the American Association
• PA must be certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
• Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
• PALS certification
• DEA License and controlled substance license

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide high quality, compassionate, and comprehensive health care to patients, in a timely manner, utilizing current care practices. Demonstrates a positive public image towards patients, visitors, and fellow employees through courteous, respectful and cooperative behavior.
