JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective The retail store cashier is responsible for the accurate and efficient sales transactions for our customers. The duties and responsibilities of the cashier include greeting customers when entering or leaving our establishment, maintaining an organized checkout area and keeping reports of cash and credit transactions. The cashier must have excellent cash handling skills. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Accurate money handling skills and change back abilities

2. Knowledge of products in the retail store

3. Ability to locate products in the retail store

4. Scan goods and collect payments

5. Issue receipts, refunds, or change

Work Environment

This job operates in a Hardware/Feed Store setting. This role routinely stands at the checkout counter and uses a cash register, printer and scanner.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, see and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to lift items up to 20 pounds and occasionally required to lift items up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full time position. Shifts and days of work will vary according to the needs of the store and Department Manager. Weekend availability required.

The successful candidate will be able to pass a pre employment drug screening.

Pay: $13.50 - $17.00 per hour
