The Room Service Attendant role is responsible for servicing guests in a prompt, professional and courteous manner while upholding the core values of The Gasparilla Inn & Club. The Room Service Attendants purpose is to ensure the level of service provided to the guest is highly individualized and that each guest experiences the warmth and charm of The Gasparilla Inn & Club.

Job Duties:

• Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available through Room Service.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, preparation method, ingredients, sauces, preparation time, garnishes, presentation and prices.
• Maintain complete knowledge of guest room layout, locations and room numbers.
• Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
• Maintain knowledge of Visual One and manual systems.
• Answer Room Service phone within 3 rings, using correct salutations and telephone etiquette.
• Complete opening side duties as assigned:
• Check quality and amount of all Room Service stock and supplies using checklist.
• Fold/stack In Room Dining napkins.
• Requisition all necessary supplies and transport from storeroom to Room Service area.
• Set tables and trays according to service standards.
• Set up all condiments (butter, jellies, syrups, juices) and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) according to service standards.
• Ensure a sufficient supply of all silverware, glassware and chinaware for service.
• Check cleanliness and condition of all equipment for use in Room Service area, rectify any deficiencies.
• Ensure all flowers and decorative items are fresh for guest use.
• Retrieve all food orders from kitchen and place on table/tray in accordance with the departmental standards.
• Retrieve all alcoholic beverage items from bar and place on table/tray in accordance with the departmental standards.
• Serve the food items and beverages to the guest in accordance with departmental standards.
• Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests even when busy.
• Maintain positive guest relations.
• Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
• Present check to guest for signature/payment. Adhere to all payment procedures established by Accounting.
• Complete closing side duties.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Required:

• Minimum age of 18 required to serve alcohol
• Food handling certificate
• Must have exceptional interpersonal skills, empathize with others and value teamwork
• Must possess a hospitality mindset with a passion for creating memorable guest experiences
• Must believe that service is a noble profession and have the willingness to always do the right thing

Preferred:

• Experience in a multi-faceted food and beverage setting i.e. fine & casual dining, banquets, room service, etc.

Working Conditions and Assignments

This is a physically active position and individuals can expect to work in a variety of environments both indoors and outdoors. This position is also required to work during nights, weekends and holidays.
