Job Description :

Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position is responsible for promptly and accurately tracking, verifying and analyzing financial and other data for the processing, recording, updating, reconciling, and reporting of financial information in compliance with established policies. Uses independent judgment and specialized knowledge to evaluate and recommend solutions based on such data.

Depending on the assignment of duties, this position may be responsible to:

  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports, including daily activity reports, weekly sales reports, monthly/annual income statements, balance sheets and cash flows.
  • Track and reconcile financial and production data (including labor and overhead) and utilize that data to prepare journal entries and generate reports.
  • Collect, interpret and report key financial data.
  • Verify the accuracy of data through reconciliations and prepare adjusting entries as required to ensure that account balance are accurate.
  • Cost modified orders, including Bills of Material, labor and overhead to ensure appropriate tracking and gross profit calculations.
  • Enter data into various accounting systems.
  • Prepare or approve invoices and accounts payable check runs.
  • Participate in all aspects of the accounting department as required (including Canadian truck paperwork, NAFTA, fixed assets, advertising, commission reports, backlog reports, scrap reports, etc.).
  • Assist with annual budget process and monthly update of projections.
  • Assist with gathering data and responding to auditor requests.
  • Monitor performance compared to budget/projection and prior year and make recommendations for modifying projections or operations.
  • Reconcile inventories, coordinate annual inventory process, and update standard costs including annual cost rolls.
  • Gather, collate, and/or classify data as may be needed to support operations.
  • Assist as needed in other functions of the department.
  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving teams as required.


  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance or Associates degree and commensurate work experience. Additional experience may be required in relation to scope of duties assigned.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting/bookkeeping principles and budget processing.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and manage priorities.
  • Proficient with accounting and computer systems such as AR, AP & GL; MS Excel, Word, and Outlook; Imaging; ERP/MRP systems such as Oracle and ManMan.
  • Understanding of production/manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and reporting tools such as SQL and Discoverer.
  • Ability to work with a wide diversity of individuals and work with a variety of data.
  • Problem solving skills to identify issues and create action plans.
  • Normal office environment, close and distant vision, using hands and fingers to handle and feel, talk and hear, sitting, lifting up to 10 lbs. frequently. Standing and walking, lifting up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
