Weekend Inpatient Therapist (every other weekend)

Part-time, one weekend a month, Saturday-Sunday day shift
Seeking a part-time Therapist position? Brook Lane Health Services is seeking an experienced Maryland Licensed Social Worker (LCSW-C) or Professional Counselor (LCPC) to serve the mental health needs of children, adolescents, and adults in an Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital setting. This position is every other Weekend: Saturday & Sunday day shift.

Our acute psychiatric hospital provides the most intensive level of care in a safe and therapeutic environment. Individuals appropriate for the inpatient program include those who may meet one or more of the following criteria:

• in need of crisis stabilization
• dangerous or impulsive behaviors causing risk for injury, neglect, self-harm, or victimization
• suicidal or homicidal thinking, posing an imminent danger to themselves or others
• in need of emergency medication intervention for stabilization
• having severe difficulty functioning in daily life
• in need of monitoring 24-hours a day in a safe environment

We offer individual rooms in age-appropriate units for children, adolescents, and adults. An average hospital stay is 7-9 days, during which time a patient receives 24-hour nursing care and intensive clinical interventions from a multi-disciplinary treatment team.

Key Responsibilities:*

• Provides individual and family counseling services to develop positive relationships with patients/families through the use of empathy, attentiveness, and compassion
• Completes assessments
• Conducts group counseling as part of the daily Inpatient programming
• Works with members of the multi-disciplinary team on treatment planning and discharge planning
• Maintains documentation of services provided in compliance with policies using an electronic medical record
• Communicates with and educates family members as appropriate
• Consults with nursing staff and support staff on behavior planning interventions as appropriate

Qualifications:

• Social Worker LCSW-C or Licensed Counselor LCPC in Maryland preferred. Experience working with all age groups preferred.
• LMSW or LGPC would be considered with appropriate experience level.
• Basic technology skills required.

Pay is flat rate of $310 per day up to 8 hours. Any hours over 8 will be paid in addition to the $300.$1,000 Sign on bonus paid out over 4 installments.
